Thomas. The stupid, tank engine!

Why, oh why do you like this show, Ayda!

First of all, the show is just... OBNOXIOUS!

Second, what are all of the train engines' problems? They are always cross, grumpy, playing tricks, teasing, and they ALWAYS have a rotten look on their face!

And last, it is sooooooo, excruciatingly, BORING!

You know, I can handle Cat in the Hat, and Curious George. In fact, I sometimes enjoy them... George is so cute, and cheeky.

I can't get into Thomas....

So I sacrifice, and watch it. Because I am VERY into a certain, little girl that loves Thomas.

Miss Ayda is TWO!!!

Now that Ayda is two, I thought I would journal some of the things she is saying/doing at this stage in her life.

When she takes a drink of water, or eats something she likes, she says, "delicious!"

Ayda LOVES TV/movies! She knows all of the character's names, and she has memorized a lot of the dialogue from her favorite shows. She also likes to recite the lines with the characters as they are speaking. She is quite dramatic... I foresee an acting career in her future.

Ayda likes to console. Immediately upon hitting me, kicking the dog, or throwing one of her toys, she will say, "You okay? It's alright. Sorry." She says this while stroking the object and acting very concerned.

Ayda is loving. She loves to kiss, or have her animals/figurines kiss.

Ayda likes to get "cozy" This could be in bed, in her her stroller, on the couch, or she also likes to get her toys "cozy" with blankets.

I was getting ready in the bathroom for Scott's work party, and when I came out she said, "you look cute!" She's using the word cute now. It's funny.

Of course she still loves to be chased. She is so active and athletic!

The girl can't get enough chocolate and cookies, but she eats good food too. She loves avocados, black beans, and squash.

Ayda is doing such a good job with her manners. She says, "thank you" without being asked. She also says "please."

She is learning new words like crazy, and saying more sentences! It's been so fun watching her develop.

Oh, and she is starting to call me "Julie"

One new thing is, Ayda use to be really social. She use to go to anyone, and thrive around people. She is going through a stage where she is nervous around those she doesn't know. I was reading that around the age of two they can develop this. She still loves to play with her friends though!

We threw her a Dr. Seuss Birthday party, with family and friends. It was a lot of fun! I plan on posting about it soon, but I wanted to post pictures with it, and our USB outlet is not working. It will be coming soon!

This is the most recent picture I have of Ayda, because the other pictures are stuck on our camera. This was taken at the farm on Thanksgiving day. Ayda had so much fun on the farm. It was so nice to be with family.

Play-doh

Ayda is not the best at playing with toys by herself. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with things for Ayda to do, that will keep her occupied for more than five minutes. A friend suggested play-doh... fantastic idea!!!

So I went to my local Wal-mart, bought myself a twelve pack of play-doh, and got my hopes up very high!

I sat Ayda down at the table, assuring her that we were about to do something "fun!" I opened the red container, handed her the doh, and she immediately took a big bite from it!

I of course, jump up, yell, pry open her mouth, and fish around, until I have retrieved all the doh.

Poor girl. I think I scared her half to death! She started crying. You know that one with the major frown, and lips stuck out.

Well, that didn't go so good. Can't say I blame the girl. It does look like a tasty treat, of some sort. Should have showed her how to play with it better.

How long until you can re-introduce a toy after a traumatic experience?

So this is how it's going to be...

A conversation I had with Ayda today, after her nap.

Ayda: "Hungry!"
Me: "Okay, do you want some grapes?"
Ayda: "No."
Me: "Okay, what would you like?"
Ayda: "Cookies... chocolate...?"
Me: Grrrrrrrrrr!

Oh, Where do I begin...

This Little girl of mine, is full of life! Ayda is high-spirited, strong-willed, smart, determined, and just has a happy disposition. Ayda is spunky, and has a flair for the dramatics. She is also, HILARIOUS! Seriously! She makes me laugh so hard! This is the kind of girl, who will eat peanut butter straight from the jar with a spoon. Ayda is loving. Everyday I hear her say to our dog, "Bruiser, hug, hug?" Or, "Mommy, please, hug?' She has a laugh and smile that will melt your heart. And she makes life meaningful.


With that said... every coin has its flip-side, folks.


With the same zeal and determination she has for life, she also has when she wants her way! Don't ever cross her, or you will feel her wrath! This is a girl who DEMANDS that I chase, and drag her around the house on a blanket, ALL DAY! I have the empty Tylenol bottles to prove it, (my poor back). This is a girl that must keep to a routine. Speaking of the peanut butter, she has a specific chair she sits on to eat the peanut butter, (tall bar stool) and if she can't sit on it, all heck breaks loose. Ayda has a set of lungs! She threatens to use them at the most inconvenient times, church, restaurant, store, ect. Ayda also has boundless energy! I had one babysitter say to me, "she just doesn't quit!" 

How can one little girl make me so happy and crazy all in one day?

I know Heavenly Father reserved the strong spirits for the last days, and I can't begin to say how grateful I am to have Ayda. I guess it is my job as "parent" to help encourage this darling personality, and tame the beast when needs be.

I know I will be praying A LOT!

I remember when I was pregnant with her, I hoped I would have a girl with some spunk... Be careful what you wish for! Love this girl!
