Life

Oh, man! It's been a busy summer, and I have lots to blog about! I thought I would start with an update on the Ayda bug.

I was looking at her the other day, and she looks like a little girl now! What happened to my baby girl!?

Here are a few things she has been up to....

Ayda's vocabulary has been crazy the last few months! We can can carry on conversations now, and I love it! But I'm realizing I have to be careful of the things I say because she is repeating them. Here are a few of my favorite things she has been saying.

"OH MY GOSH! Let me out of this car seat!"

"Ok, I give you a second chance."

"Ummmm... No thanks." ( She always say this when I offer her something healthy to eat or ask her to do something).

"GEEZ!" (I notice that she says this quite frequently when she is waiting for a kid to go down the park slide and he/she is not going down fast enough... the girl has no patience).

Have I mentioned how much energy Ayda has? We bought a pass to a water park this summer and Ayda has been LOVING it! She loves to go down the fast, adult slides with Daddy, and even when they crash and she gets dunked, she says,"again, again!"

Ayda is starting to enjoy singing, and every time we pick her up from nursery the leaders praise her and say what a good singer she is and knows all of the songs. She also likes to reenact the movies she likes, especially Tangled. I catch her looking at herself in the mirror saying how much she looks like Rapunzel, as she strokes her own hair. It's hilarious!

Ayda is loving books! She even has some of her books memorized, and it sounds like she is really reading them. She also knows and can identify her letters and numbers up to ten, she can count to ten, although she always skips the number five and can kind of say her ABC's.

Lately, Ayda has been a little sassy. It seems like I hear a lot of , " I do it by myself!" and " that's mine!" And bedtime has been a struggle. Her bedtime routine was taking us over an hour to do! She always wanted one more book, or song, and heaven forbid if we didn't do "second hugs"! We are working on it, folks. I think we have had enough of being her "monkey boy"! The girl still has a will of iron, but perhaps it's a good thing in this day and age.

You know the things I love most about Ayda are, her happy disposition. She almost ALWAYS has a smile on her face, she is friendly, always saying hi to people, loves to play with her friends and make new friends wherever she goes. She is fun and hilarious. She is tender hearted and loving.

Ok, so this has been a bit of a novel, but I don't think I've blogged since May. Let's just say this entry is for the Grandma's.
Ah, this was taken before I got really fat. And look at the little Missy next to me!

One of Ayda's favorite pastimes... the park!
Another favorite pastime... her new pool!
(pardon the nudity)
